The 4th is a special day for us all.  America.  F*** yeah.  Comin round to save the mother f***in day ya.  I am getting all America on everyone's ass right now.  I ate a chicken, a cheeseburger, a cheesedog, and a corn.  Hella American.  Yesterday, I fell asleep before TPADing.  This has been a very common theme of late.  The 4PAD.  It's the new 2PAD.  I hope you enjoy.

Yesterday I saw this Red-tailed Hawk murder this baby Northern Mockingbird.

This baby California Towhee was not ripped apart in front of me.  Thank God.

I'm starting the thursday crossword in my hotel room right now and I have high hopes.  I will slay this puzzle of words and wit.  Work was good today.  I saw a bunch of first of spring species.  Stuff like Black-throated gray, Nashville, and Orange-crowned Warblers.  Also This Blue- Grosbeak:

Wish I coulda gotten a tiny bit closer.  This shot woulda been epic.  Like fresh pow pow.

I found this California Towhee endlessly trying to kill the demon Cal Towhee from another dimension.  In vain.

Stormy Calaveras

It has been difficult to shoot photos in the low light that has been cursing us.  Apparently it's supposed to rain until early next week.  Good thing, seeing as how this place hasn't seen any rain for hella hella days.  I am preparing myself mentally for the great migration south which will be taking place in a few short days.  It won't be long now before I am searching out nests and watching construction workers in Southern California.  Without further ado, here is my best attempt at salvaging some low light photos.
