Middle Of Day...Best Time For To Observe Birds

I went out to Point Reyes with Seagull Steve yesterday for a trip filled with Great Success.  We tallied at least 131 species and had many highlights.  Good birds were:  Eurasian Wigeon, Ferruginous Hawk, Yellow-shafted Flicker, Black Scoter, Prairie Warbler, Red-necked Grebe, American Tree-sparrow, Wilson's Snipe, Lapland Longspur, Tundra Swan, American Bittern, Bonaparte's Gull, Redhead, and Number One Maximum Sickness: Tufted Duck!  It was off the hook, brah.

American Tree Sparrow.  For some reason, we decided to stop the car and look at this sparrow out of the hundreds alongside the road.  Maximum Cool!

Steve just picked this bird out from like a mile away like it ain't no thang.  Cause he's so pro.  He's actually the Number 7 Birder.

...Just Kidding

I just wanted to see what y'all would do without TPAD.  I received a lot of threatening letters and phone calls.  But guess what?  I've got yesterday's 2 photos ready for you right here and now.  There was no need to panic.  I went birding around the city for a few hours and saw some stuff:

Wood Duck at Lloyd Lake, showing very nicely.

Red-masked Parakeet at Fort Mason.  This one had a band on its right foot that I could read a few digits from.  Anybody know what I could do with the number?

Ween, Hallo

Didn't go birding yesterday.  I spent half of the day with Gramma, and the other half trick-or-treating with Kayla and her stepdaughters.  The keg went very flat, but we didn't give up.  I'm now back in The City and promise to go birding every day so you don't have to look at pictures of pets or little kids anymore.

No, Sam's not short at all.
